Additional information

Markus Morkel studied Biology at the University Würzburg and received his Dr. rer. nat. in Molecular Biology from the Humboldt University, Berlin. He continued his research as a postdoc in Professor Walter Birchmeier´s lab at the Max-Delbrück-Centrum (MDC) and as a research group leader in the Department of Developmental Biology at the Max-Planck-Institute for Molecular Genetics. His research focus is on oncogenic signal transduction during intestinal cancer initiation and progression, using transgenic mouse and organotypic tissue culture models.
