Qualitätssicherungs-Initiative Pathologie (QuIP)

As part of an initiative for quality assurance of the German Society of Pathology (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Pathologie) and the Professional Association of German Pathologists (Berufsverband Deutscher Pathologen) an internal comparative inter-laboratory trial in the field of PCR-based detection of Mycobacterium tuberculosis was performed (background information, in German). The results are published in Schewe et al., Virchows Archiv, 2005*. On this web site you will find additional information on the trial and supplementary data of the publication.

Pre-tested specimens are now available for the external trail and can be ordered from the steering institute via provitro GmbH (http://www.provitro.de/), click here for order information. All molecular pathology laboratories are invited to participate in this quality assurance initiative. Please contact Dr. Axel Koepenik via sales(at)provitro.de.
